What is SchoolPhotoPRO?

SchoolPhotoPRO (SPP), is a association for professional school & preschool photographers that has been in existence since 2006.

Standards for school & preschool photographers

With an increasing number of photographers entering our industry, photographers
who are committed to our industry use SPP membership to show you that they adhere to a strict code of conduct and they are dedicated to providing you, your pupils and their parents with the best possible school photography service.

Why are standards needed?

School photography is a very specialised business that relies not only on great photography but also experience, people skills, great organisation and of course the ability to deal with data and child protection issues. We see standards being extremely important in our industry as using an inexperienced photographer or company with low standards could lead to numerous problems including: poor, unsaleable photographs being produced, plus hours of extra administration for school staff and frustrated parents caused by order errors.

SPP membership standards

As a result of SPP’s high standards, membership, especially that of our accredited level, has become a must-have accolade for school and preschool photographers. Amongst SPP members you will find some of the very best school photographers in our business, who will produce high-selling, innovative photographs that will keep parents happy and help you raise extra funds for your school or preschool.

Are all school & preschool photographers SPP members?

No, not every school & preschool photographer is a member of our association, but there is absolutely no reason why they shouldn't be. As long as they are full-time professional photographers that work in schools and/or preschools, they qualify. And, membership has many benefits for them, the main one being that it shows they have extremely high standards.

Now that CRB's are no longer needed for school photographers

"Terms and Conditions of registration to your association, that include recognition of ISA referral procedures will go a long way to reassure Headteachers that you take safeguarding matters seriously and that you are a professional organisation."

"I can confirm that we will be informing the Schools within [our] Local Authority that they are able to accept the registration from your professional school photographers association as an alternative to CRBs."

"From a HR perspective [SPP] registration is an additional level of safeguarding in the absence of eligibility for a CRB check. I can make schools aware of it in our newsletter."
